Susan

sus01Susan, 12 years old, was born in Germany as a child of Kurdish Refugees.
Her nature: intelligent, eloquent, diplomatic, courageous, rapid apprehension, musical talent, good sense of humour, good language abilities (Susan speaks three languages and understands a forth).
Her goals: to become a physician or biologist, or eventually an athlete. We think, Susan will become a politician.
Even though Susan is only 12-years old she is already a real garden-veteran and a passionate defender of children's rights in the gardens. Her strong will and sense of justice prevents grownups of assigning her with tedious duties. She managed to bargain her own plot on which she cultivates tomatoes and strawberries. In the summer of 2002, Susan finally got the chance to launch a bigger project. She was able to fundamentally contribute to the development and implementation of the intercultural children's project, that took place in Göttingen. Not just her research on the internet but also her original and juvenile ideas helped to make this project a success. In this context she developed her own concept for intercultural playful learning, that she vigorously defended against the ("incompetent") objections of the grownups. Apart form her home and school, the garden is the most important place in Susan's life. Actions need a range to operate and talents need a space to develop in. Intercultural gardens can provide such spaces…
