Mohamed

moh01Mohamed, 42 years old, born in Egypt, lives in Germany since 1999.
His nature: Optimistic, active and determined. He has a PhD in dentistry, a talent for cooking and a good entrepreneurial spirit, which he inherited from his father who was a draper in Egypt.
His goals: To set up a catering service for Egyptian specialities
The aesthetic of Mohamed's symmetrical cultivated garden astonishes most when viewed from above. But also from an ordinary angle the gardens scenery and structural expression is simply amazing – at times too pretty to eat. But Mohamed disagrees with his. He is happy about being able to create delicious menus from his, partly imported Egyptian, plantlets and seeds: Yam, coriander, fenugreek, dill, pomegranates, tomatoes and many more flourishes in his garden. It is never beautiful enough; it can never smell or taste good enough. Mohamed is a so-called Food Artist. Some say he is simply a cooking-genius, who can create meals from literally anything, without using a recipe, that are not just delicious but a true creation of lifestyle and perfection. A sensitive palatine will taste gratitude, sunshine, energy and joy…
When Mohamed came to Berlin in 1999 – after working in Alexandria as a dentist for 14 years – he spent two years trying to get a working permit as a dentist in Germany – in vain. He was deeply frustrated and the need for an alternative became urgent. That was the point where he decided to turn his greatest passion, cooking, into his job. Since then he is trying to establish a catering service and has already carried out a few orders successfully. That surely motivates. In the Intercultural Garden in Berlin-Köpenick, other gardeners and visitors also get to profit from Mohamed's cooking skills. Some are already spelled (especially by his delicious Tahina) and with the others, it is only a matter of time…
