Nutrition and health are important issues for many migrants. But there often is a lack of information on existing offers and facilities. The German health system is not designed for the special needs of migrants and has difficulties reaching out to them. Here “nutrition and health” enters in, a project by Stiftung Interkultur that is running in the Internationalen Gärten Göttingen since September 2008 that is funded by the Bundesamt für Migration and Flüchtlinge (BAMF). Coordinated by Najeha Abid from Göttingen, a working group of migrants is looking for intercultural connections and concepts for integration in the field of health and nutrition. Secondary research is carried out by Andrea Baier of Stiftungsgemeinschaft anstiftung & ertomis.
